About the Artist

 As a kid I relished my times in summer camp and art class at school when I got to do art and craft projects. I have been doing painting for the last 25 years.  I currently  work in  mixed media collage, acrylics, photography and do assemblages on wood.

  I  worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities for 27 years. My experience

 As a kid I relished my times in summer camp and art class at school when I got to do art and craft projects. I have been doing painting for the last 25 years.  I currently  work in  mixed media collage, acrylics, photography and do assemblages on wood.

  I  worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities for 27 years. My experience in that field has equipped me to be a better teacher.

I've taught art for 15 years. I helped start an monthly art program for group homes and taught  classes for Fairfax County Park Authority. Christine M Jenkins Fine Art started in 2015.

 I enjoy traveling to Europe, various beaches and the mountains of West Virginia.  I get inspiration from nature and paint ocean related subjects since I grew up near the beach. Recently my paintings and collages reflect my love of nature, places I've been and passions.

 My collages and  assemblages are made from upcycled materials like discarded papers, foil, bubble wrap, newspapers. I also recreate pieces by repurposing substrates.

My recent pieces are from the feelings I had around the pandemic. They offer hope and peace in trying times.
